Maritimes’ blue sky is strikingly pure, which is often intensified by the ocean and shores. This deep and crystal clear blue is the result of a clean atmosphere, where sea air helps to spread the light from the sun, creating a particularly shining shade of blue sky. In the summer, the sky is clear from clouds and merges with the horizon, accentuating the serenity of coastal landscapes. In winter, this clear sky represents a magnificent contrast with the whiteness of the snow. This maritime blue, both intense and relaxing, represents for me one of the most striking visual symbols of the area.

In 2024, I had the pleasure of exploring the coastal roads leading to Magdalen Islands. On our way there, the sky was almost always clear and this thought provided me with a sense of fullness. The blue that lingers when I close my eyes.
